In general,  I have stopped submitting wine samples to the large  wine magazines and wine competitions. They tend to like Pinot Noir in the big, ripe, high alcohol, new world  style and tend to score finese style wines with average ratings. Nothing wrong with the big style, it has it's fans but with our style firmly in the Burgundian camp, our small production, value pricing  and loyal customer base we decided to stop chasing "scores". That said we continue to send samples to some smaller regional magazines and wine competitions. I will post the results here as they are available. Thanks for your support.

I suppose the wine business is a haven for contrarians, and in that fine tradition, I am finding that I prefer the lighter 2007 Oregon Pinots to the much more heralded 2008's. This Freja made me feel as if I was there in Oregon as soon as I smelled it, with a touch of summery tomato leaf aroma framing the raspberry Pinot fruit. With a light to medium body and good acidity to invite drinking more than one glass I thought, "This is my next salmon on the grill wine!" The very fair price is a bonus!
Top Value!
